[it was a pretty normal day for sousuke. well, as normal as it could get in a hellhole like haven. anyway- it was the pretty standard bump and grind for him. wake up, go out and scavenge for food, and survive. some of that was hard to do with the difficult curve balls haven would throw out at them all, but, you had to adapt to them in order to survive. and that's what sousuke was good at. adapting. especially since his arm wasn't that much of an issue with him anymore.

he woke up today as he normally would have any other day. as slowly as possible. the annoying alarm clock would beep at him annoyingly in an attempt to wake him up for the new day. nothing seemed out of the ordinary when he rolled out of bed. or, at least that's what he thought. he got out of bed, stood up, and stretched slowly.

as he did this he notices that the top bunk is actually occupied by someone (you bet your ass he took the bottom bunk after rin left.) else. and upon further notice he realizes that the person has the exact same hair color as his best friend....

he clicks his tongue against his upper palate - tch - looking annoyed. ]

Maybe once, okay? But it was a long time ago. He's just my rival now.

[he remains silent as he takes this news in. well... at least this happened ages ago.... but still. he's curious and he hates himself for it.] How long is a long time ago?

Why? [ his tone sharp. ] I told you, it's over.

[overexerted]

Was it mutual? [he apparently hates himself.]

[jawdacity]

I don't know. I never...

[ and now it's rin's turn to look away. ]

Look, even if he did -- if he does -- it wouldn't matter. [ his gaze flicks back to sousuke, quiet with determination. ] I meant what I said to you.

[overexerted]

[he lets out a relieved sigh.] Well... that means a lot to me, Rin. I'm... I'm glad.

[jawdacity]

You think I really would've said yes to you if I still wanted someone else?

[ rin, moving on autopilot, just drags sousuke into a hug in reply, hooking his chin over sousuke's good shoulder.

then, softer -- ]

Wow, Sousuke. You must think I'm an asshole.

[overexerted]

I'm sorry. [you get all misty eyed at haru sometimes! he doesn't know gosh.] It's not that I don't think that, because I don't. But... you... well. [he shrugs.]

[jawdacity]

I what? [ because he wants to hear this. yeah, haru's an important friend, but he's come to realize that they might be compatible in the pool, but haru already had someone by his side. haven has proved that to be true. ]

[overexerted]

You still look at him all misty eyed.

[ what the hell. no he doesn't. ] Yeah, and how do I look at you?
